will not start after shutting off engine

I have a 1997 mecury mountaineer with 10700 miles on it. Some of the times, when I go somewhere and shut off the engine, and then try to start it back up, it won't start. You can hear the soylonoid clicking, but it still won't start. I replaced the soylonoid, and it still won't start. What do I do next?

Check the battery cables especially the neg cable to engine block connection. If they are good take a look at the starter motor...sounds like it's getting to hot! If it's the starter put in a new one.
