I have a 2008 Mercury Milan 2.3l it started to vibrating at about 80,000 miles at idle, worse when the a/c was on. For about a year we couldn't find the problem, neither could the Ford dealer until last weekend. It was the passenger side engine mount. The fluid type is a piece of junk all the fluid leaked out. Get the new all rubber design made for both the 2.3l and the later 2.5l. It looks different then the old one. The new one was about a inch and a half taller then the old style or maybe because it was bad. The hole for the ground strap wasn't thread either on the new mount we just tapped it before we installed the mount on the car. We also installed the torque mount, the trans mount and a few other rubber bushings near the trans mount just to be safe. When you do all three mounts remember to align the passenger side like the old one using the marks and let the engine rest on the mounts after lowering the engine using a hydraulic jack under the engine be very careful not to damage the aluminum oil pan we used a thick folded up beach towel. Please don't tell my wife. LOL. Now the Milan runs like a brand new car! At idle it's nice and smooth. Good luck and get a manual from your local parts store it did help and so did youtube. Com. Some Mazda's used the 2.3l you can search on youtube. Com for them. Good luck!
