1999 Mercury Marquis 6 cyl

I have had the alternator replaced like 3 times now my check engine light is on and my battery light flickers. the volt gauge for the battery runs high most of the time. the alternator has been checked i don't know what is wrong and afraid of what might happen while driving it

Is this a new alt you are using? Is it from the same supplier? To me it sounds like a bad voltage regulator, so if you keep getting the same brand, you may want to try something different.
