I have a 1994 mercury marquis 60,000 miles. I just changed the oil and it had gas in it. This car is only used to drive about 2 miles a day. Does any one know what could cause this problem. This car probably has not had its oil changed in a year, until today.

Most likely this is due to a faulty fuel pressure regulator or more likely then not leaky fuel injectors causing the cylinders to get gas in them and since the rings dont seal 100% the gas leaks past them and down into your crank case.

Is it raw fuel or exhaust smell?

Would definetely be checking for a fualty fuel pressure regulator and leaky injectors causing the gas to drip in the cylinders, and then into the oil!

Your best bet would be hook up a fuel pressure test guage to the fuel rail and get the pressure up and then turn it off and wait, compare the amounts it drops to specs, should drop a little less then 1 psi per minute.
