The Mercury dealership has looked for fluid leaks and reported that they don't see any. When the car warms up and the a/c is on, I'm smelling hot/burnt oil smell through the a/c vent when I'm stopped at a signal. When moving, the smell disipates due to the air flow. Nothing is leaking on the ground at all! I can smell the same thing outside the car at the cowl area on the passenger side.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

If you open the hood, check the rear of the valve covers. There may be a leak there. Keep in mind, chances are the leak is up high on the engine because it needs to burn on the exhaust manifolds for you to notice it in the car. If it was low and burning off the exhaust under the car, you would most likely only smell it outside of the car.

Let me know what you find.
