When you shift into reverse its ok.
when u shift into drive it does nothing.
shift manually into first and give alot of gas it rolls forward.
shift manually into second gear it does nothing again.
any ideas? Im not a mechanic but ive been working on my own vehicles my whole life. Is this something I should have a professional look at?

Hi there,

Short of checking the oil level, there is not much a backyard mechanic can do with an automatic transmission, it sounds like a major internal failure, so I think a visit to a transmission specialist is in order.
