Hi. I recently bought a 95 Mercury Cougar. I was aware of some issues with the car before I bought it. When you first start the car up, and rev the engine up, it doesn't want to go past 2,000 RPM's and it sounds kind of like it's sputtering but it doesn't try to die on me. After a minute or two of running, the car revs up just fine. A buddy of mine and I checked the fuel injectors, changed the fuel filter, checked the plugs and wires, and checked the mass air flow sensor. We ran some fuel injection cleaner through the gas tank prior to checking the injectors. We sprayed some mass air flow sensor cleaner on the fuel rail as a whim and the problem went away. I was just wondering if I should expect this problem to return.
