indicators do not flash when activated. They stay in a permanent on state until deactivated.
They do flash when the alarm is activated.

the turn siagnal flasher may be bad,
the reason they flash for the alarm because the hazard flasher is working.
The hazard system operates independently of the turn signal.
activate the switch and check voltage at the flasher.
if voltage is present, replace the flasher.
if voltage is not present check the wiring between the switch and the flasher.
