Mercedes cars operate a little different than regular cars. If you look in your engine bay, towards the rear of the engine bay on the drivers side, ther is a cable that runs to your gas pedal. This cable is hooked up to a pedal sensor that tells the computer the drivers request as far as how much gas the driver is given the vehicle. This sensor sends the data to the engine control module which inturn moves the throttle blade on the engine to allow air to enter the engine. Either the throttle actuator or the pedal sensor is your problem. From experience I would recommend your pedal sensor first. Ive replaced many of these before and the throttle actuators fail a lot less. With out actually daignosing this, this would be your best bet. Hope this helps!
