The hard top latches at five points. Two of them are at the top of the windshield, above the sun visors. Two of them are behind the seats, one on each side. To loosen these you should have the MB wrenches. If you don't, a large screwdriver can substitute temporarily, but you'll want to get a set of the wrenches. They're constantly being sold on ebay.
To get the final latch point undone, you use the two handles on the driver side (US models), behind the seat. Turn the large handle counterclockwise to relax the tension on the center pin. Turn the small handle counterclockwise to release the pin. Then have someone help you as you lift it off the car. Be careful, because that's a long pin, and it's easy to lose control of the top to the point that you get a serious scratch and/or dent around the hole. You wouldn't want that.
