1992 Mercedes Benz 400e V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I put in the wrong code 3 timesand itsstuck on wait.I have the correct code now but cant enter it because it will not come offof"Wait." I have tried the 15min. thing with the car and radio on, 15min. with the radio off but car on, I even tried leaving both on for over2 hrs., I have disconnected the battery overnight, and still the "wait", I removed the radio and fuse replaced everthying and still "Wait" What should I do? I cant afford the dealer!!! Help!!

Have not done one in a long time but this is what I recall
Hope it help
As disconnecting the battery or the radio if the radio locks will not help


Many attempts were made and have to wait for the radio (like internal timer)
To reset and that is done by leaving the radio on some may take few hours depend on how many attempt were wrong I think for every 3 attempts its 15 min and after 1 more wrong attempt it’s an hour and so on
Radio must be left on
enter the correct code and conform it
