Computer problem
1991 Mercedes Benz 300se 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 184K miles

the check engine light came on, code 11=air pump.
At cold start pump "works", clutch disengages after 110 sec. as specified, vacuum to switches "works".

Replaced the two valves in the air line from the pump to the exhaust manifold. Check engine light remained of for two days, will not stay of for more than a few minutes after the first start after being turned off.

What else can be the problem than the "messenger" to or in the computer? How can I check?

I was asked to assist the Merc guy is not in dunno when he's coming back and were sorry about the delay

If all these components checked out which is part of the air injection system: Air injection switchover valve, air cutoff valve, vacuum check valve, throttle valve switch and lambda control. I recommend you have the CIS-E control module tested-
