Car wont idle

I have a 93 mazda mx3 with about 150,000 miles with a standard 5 speed. It wont idle at all. When I take off it is very slow and I will have to shift at about 3000 or sooner but the longer I drive it the better it runs. I can rev it as high as I want to before I shift then but after a little while when I stop at stop sign or something it will stay reved up to about 4000 and it wont go down. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Check out the IAC ( Idle Air control) that is what sets the idle for the car.
