I have a 93 mazda mx3 with about 150,000 miles with a standard 5 speed. it wont idle at all. When i take off it is very slow and i will have to shift at about 3000 or sooner but the longer i drive it the better it runs. i can rev it as high as i want to before i shift then but after a little while when i stop at stop sign or something it will stay reved up to about 4000 and it wont go down. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

check out the IAC ( Idle Air control) that is what sets the idle for the car.
