I was recently told that I will need new brake lines, and fuel lines in order to sell my car saftied. Is this worth doing? There's not much else wrong with the car, it's a 93 with about 136 000km's. Any advice, or places to get cheap parts would be helpful as well

Why do you need the lines? They are designed to outlast the car, Other than the rubber hoses

Alot of time the brake lines on mx-3's will rott out just before they go over the gas tank at the back. Since the fuel lines run along here too, there is a good chance that they are rotten too. I would think that the brake lines are more of a problem than the fuel lines at the moment, unless it is leaking fuel. Brake lines can be called as a safety hazzard (Here in Canada) if they are 'heavily rusted' and still not leaking. If they are leaking or even just seaping a tiny bit. Then they need to be replaced. A GOOD shop will replace them from front to back, as repairing a line or splicing is NOT considered acceptable for a safety (again here in Canada) but is acceptable as a repair (NOT a Saety).

BTW 2carprojack. You never repaired a line on a car? And who uses rubber line on a car with 50 psi coming out of the pump? How you gonna secure that line to the steel line, hose clamps? Butcher
