Engine quits

1991 MPV, 4W/D 6cyl, 159,000 miles. After 5 to 10 miles of freeway speed the engine dies. Waiting for a minute or so and it will restart. Engine dies again when returning to freeway speed for a few miles. What could be happening?

No real idea but it may be an ignition moule that is over heating. If you car has an optical reader distributer than that is a likely culpret.

The problem turned out to be the ignition coil that died completely
