Drivers side front wheel

Today when I was out for about a 12 mile drive home I started to smell something that smelled like burnt rubber. So I stopped at a Kmart close to home and lifted the hood and there was smoke coming from the dirvers side. So I got under the truck and noticed it was coming from the front drivers side wheel. After a bit of shopping, I was only about a mile from home so I drove home. On the way home I noticed that engine was having difficulty keeping up the speed. Like something was warped in the front wheel assembly. Are there grease zirks on the front wheel of this truck? My guess that might be the problem of no grease in the housing, but I do not know. I feel I may need a complete new front wheel drum, etc replaced. What do you think? What could have gone wrong? Please Advise! Thanks!

Hi David Bichler,

Symptoms indicates the front brakes are most likely to be faulty causing the brakes to be engaged. If it is drum brakes, the shoes might have detached themselves.
