We just bought this as a used care and of course it didn't start to miss until about a week later. The problem seems simple enough, but I'm not quite sure what to replace. It seems to miss through out the rpm range, but only now and then - even at idle, but not to noticable. The spark plug wires have been replaced before, but I wouldn't count them out either. Is there any sure fire way to check which cylinder is missing? I'm assuming it's not an intake leak since it's not constant, would this be correct? Thank you.

You need to know when was the last major tune up-if in doubt get it done. To find a dead cylinder run the engine and start disconnecting sparkplug wires one at a time -the one that doesn't cause the engine not to drop in rpm is the trouble area.
