2000 Mazda 626 140286 miles

I have a 2000 mazda 625 and the over drive light keeps flashing on and off. It will not kick out gear until I release the gas. I can not go over 40 because it will not shift out of 3rd. What can I do

You need to have the computer for the transmission scanned for codes then go from there. You probably have a electrical fault. Get back to us

You need to find what codes are in the computer.

I expect based on the symptoms it is going to be PO743-TCC valve solenoid circuit failure. IT may be a solenoid failure, circuit wiring problem, bad PCM ora connctor problem between the pcm and the TCC.

First the codes need to be accessed with a scanner. Once you have (it) them, post back.

Could be TSB# CAT.05, NO 005/02 If you also have stored codes P1783 and P1718, if

you do the cure is to add an external atf oil cooler. This also involves a new

radiator! Failure to follow this TSB can result in tranny failure, Check for these

codes if the flashing light goes out after the tranny cools below 135 degrees, and

the car is restarted. If this does not match your symtom, , the TSB does not apply!
