When my car has been driven for a while and is sufficently warm, the car will rev up and down between 1000 and 2500 RPM's. It does this when I am stopped and the car is in first with the clutch all the way in or when the car is not in gear and I am stopped. Once I release the clutch and begin to move, the problem stops? It seems that as I drive it more, it is revving up and down less but now is consitantly around 2000 RPM's when stopped. This seems hight to me. A friend of mine thought I might have a cracked vaccum hose. Any thoughts?

Could be a vacuum leak, spray around the vacuum lines carefully with carb spray, if the idle changes, you found a leak. Also clean the inside of the throttle bore (around butterfly) with carb cleaner and a rag, this will help stabilize idle, as well as cleaning the Idle speed control motor with carb spray
