I was driving my car and the drive side kept makeing a thunking noise every time I truned left. I went to park and then I could not move after that. A few friends said they here grinding when they moved it into park. There has not been any tranmisson problems with it the past. The only thing was that thunking noise when I truned left. I was hoping to figure out what it could possible be that is wrong with it.

Hi there,

I would be inspecting the drive shafts for a failure of a C.V Joint. As they are encased in a rubber boot, there may be not to much to see. I suggest that a qualified mechanic inspect the shafts and the wheel bearings for a problem before removing a transmission.
