What is meant by the rear brake being locked up, and what is entailed in the repair. I have driven the auto for thousand of miles and have not noticed anything different in braking and did not seem to have a problem with it. But I just had an Oil Change and the fellow told my wife that the rear brake was locked.

Hi,

That could be possible. If it is locked, after driving you should feel an excessive amount of heat coming from it. Oftentimes, there is an odor associated with it as well.

What to do is this. Lift the wheel from the ground safely and see if you can turn it. There should be a slight drag on it, but it should turn easily. Also, let me know if you have rear disc or drum brakes.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care and God Bless,
Joe
