I have a wire harness from a 2013 Silverado 2500, and I'm wondering how versatile wire harnesses are between the years. I have a 6.0 Ly6 that came out of a 2008 Silverado 2500 HD.

Along with recommendations for transmissions. Modifications to the truck aren't an issue, I need transmission to be strong, and withstand high torque and horsepower.

There are going to be differences between these years. Most of these trucks are pretty close so I would still use it but be prepared to run new wiring for circuits that are not there and cut ones out that are not needed.

Plus, I would also be prepared to find just connector ends that may be different on the sensor that goes to the 2013 engine.

It is unfortunate but they seem to like to change connector ends even though the circuits are the same.

As for the transmission, I would suggest using one of the new 4L60/70/ or 80 units. Not only are the proven and durable but they will bolt right up to this engine and are easy to fix plus parts are very affordable and available.

I would suggest checking out a company like Monster Transmissions. They take these units and upgrade them for all different levels of horsepower so I am sure you will find something from them or a similar company.

Below you will find the wiring diagrams from both the 2008 (first 10 attachments) and the 2013 (last 12) for the entire powertrain systems.

This will allow you to see the differences in wiring harnesses, connectors, and where the circuits go if you need to run your own circuits.

Let us know if you have other questions. Thanks
