lost original keys switching ignition switch

I had lost my original keys and plan on switching ignition switches for financial reasons. do I need the original keys to get this done? if so can I get it done with out the original set? willing to destroy the original ignition switch

why don't you jus have a locksmith make a new key for it lot cheaper and easier than a new switch and trying to install it.
