I backed out my car yesterday and all was fine. Pulled out n 1st gear, still fine. Got to end of road and went to pull out n 1st gear but it felt like I was in 3rd or 4th gear! No power at all! Check engine light started flashing (just to be honest, the check engine light has been on solid for a little while now but I was not experiencing any issues). I turned around and went back home rather than drive it any further and when I got out there was a strong "burnt" smell, not an electrical smell but like a burnt rubber or just a hot, burnt smell. The next day I hooked it to a computer and it gave me the following codes: PO455 (this exact same code came up twice, it was the very first code and then it came up again after code PO451) , PO451, PO300, PO301, PO302, PO303, PO304 and PO314. Any ideas where I should begin here?

Hi,

The codes you have break down into three different areas. First, engine misfire. Second, evaporative emissions leak, and third (P0314) a faulty camshaft position sensor. I have a feeling that is the cause of your driveability problems.

The Reno isn't offered in the US, so I don't have technical information specific to this vehicle, but that is where I would start.

Here is a link that explains how in general to replace a camshaft position sensor. Hopefully, you can use it as a guide.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care and God Bless,

Joe
