I am having some trouble finalizing the removal of my lock cylinders. [Part # 8626325]

My problem is the key doesn't catch on anything, it just spins round & round. The part is connected to a wire than can only be removed if the key is in the 2nd position, and because it cannot click into any positions, I'm not sure how to free it up, short of taking a skillsaw to the whole part.
{The cord connected to the car is part #9181371}

see pics for disassembly and install. If it moves around kind of guess where it's supposed to be then push the pin down and remove it. as long as pin is aligned it should come out if you follow the directions I sent.
