My lock cylinder was hard to get out, but got it out. I bought a new one and the new one goes half way in and not on the way and cannot get to go in. The whole problem was when my gear shift broke on me and I replace it, but when it broke I took the lock cylinder three times and left alone about a week started fix. The first lock cylinder would not turn or come out. I got it out and the second lock cylinder would not go all the way in.

This happens when the internal gears get off time which will not allow the ignition lock to be installed. Make sure the pin is out of the way and the gears are lined up. Here are diagrams and instructions on how to replace the unit below. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

When I shut off the vehicle, the accessories continue to work (heater, radio, etc.) Battery eventually wears down. Does ignition switch need replacing or is it adjustable?

It could be either or. Chances are (based on mileage) the switch is bad.
