I have a 90 linc towncar. I had an vacuum leak after I swapped my engine with an 1988 towncar 5.0.

I transferred all the vacuum sensors from the 90 to the 88 engine. ( It was mostly electical)

when I tried to repair the leak all my lines started cracking and breaking so I pulled them all. Now can't seem to get the routing correct of the lines. Whrere would I find a vacuum hose shematic? I have a Haynes Repair Manual but it dosent have a vacuum hose shematic any suggestions.

the Hoses that run off of the air intakes sensors/relays (dont know their proper name but theres three) have two line that run from each one, red and black are theses color coded for a reason? Please help

also since I changed the engine cant seem to locate the plug on my wiring harness that goes to the map sensor? I checked the whoe harness while the engine was out and have used every plug. Any suggestions.

If anyone has a vacuum line shematic would u please email it to me it would be greatly appreciated.

First of all how did the electrical sensors match up to your plugs? Not good eh. Thats why you put the 90 sensors in the 88 engine? You may have to change the computer as well. They are designed to run one car not three!

I have a 1990 Lincoln Town Car Signature edition. They stopped putting the 5.0 302 Small block in them in 91 they went to the 4.6 modular.

But either way I'm trying to figure out where all the vacuum lines are as well. The Haynes Manual doesn't help.

Hello,

I've attached diagrams, below, of the vacuum hose routing and also the location of the MAP sensor connector.

Once the vehicle is back up and running, you may want to use these repair guides to help diagnose any possible vacuum leaks, especially if you notice any driveability issues:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-use-an-engine-vacuum-gauge

https://youtu.be/4ktw1X4W_-k

I believe on these vehicles the red hoses are typically connected to the manifold vacuum tree, and the black hoses are usually connected to the emissions solenoids.

I hope this helps, Wendy W.
