within the last week the steering has gone from smooth to choppy, fluids are good and have had no incidients. took vehicle in for oil change and was told rod near steering column was somewhat bent was not sure if that was unusual, suggeted I go to a dealer. I know they will rip me off. Also, my driver side side mirror, just the heated mirror was stolen recently, where is a good place for a replacement?

If you don't have the steering fixed yet I have found that sometimes the bearings in the universals on the shafts between the steering collumn and the steering gear get dry and are hard to move. This is a rather strange design and has several bearings in it. It is very expensive to replace. To check for this problem without taking it apart use an oil squirt can and coat all of these joints with a liberal amount of oil. The excess will drip onto the ground so beware. Mine stopped binding after a couple days of driving.
