Hi sorry but this is a very dangerous job if you are not qualified. A/c system is under high pressure and if mistakes are made, there are many ways to get hurt. It doesn, t cost much to have your system recharged. And just adding freon will not repair your air. Maybe for one day or so. But if low you have a leak so new freon will leak as well. But if you really want to know I will tell you. First install guages high side and low side read pressure. Should be equal to outside temp if charged start your eng turn on max air check for compressor operation. Read high and low side guage. Add freon until your guages are 30-40- on low side and 150 on high side if you can reach these readings air will be ice cold, but still will leak out. Sorry no easy way to do this without special equip and knowledge
