The taillights also stay on even after shutting the car completely off?

After my tires grabbed my wheel well liners on the highway, they were ripped out and run over. I pulled over to look for damage. What I found instead was that the car would no longer change gears unless I stuck something in the manual override transmission button (no idea what it's actually called). On top of this, the headlights no longer turn on at all, the dash lights stay on even after shutting the car completely off, and the tail lights also stay on even after shutting the car completely off. I have since disconnected the battery and left it in my garage. I just noticed; it was both of the front wheel well liners. The back two had no issue.

It sounds like the BCM is out or the taillight relay is stuck on, let's try to pull the relay to see if the lights go out. Here is the relay location which is on the left side of the dash fuse panel, and I have included the taillight wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works. If you swap the relay and the problem persists the BCM could be out but to be sure let's do a CAN scan which is easy,

and

Amazon CAN scanner link:

Here is how to change the BCM out as well in case you need it. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Hi Ken, thank you for responding. I'm currently on vacation but I used a fixd scanner before I left, it was throwing a U1201 - Engine code for SCP (J1850) Invalid or missing data for seat motion / control error.
I will try your other suggestion as soon as I get home. I couldn't find the relay on any fuse box diagrams though, is it just number 4 on the dash fuse box? Left side top row?
And just wondering where is the actual BCM in my car, slightly behind the dash?

Yes, the fuse and BCM should be on the left side of the dash as in the diagrams. A U1201 code is an indication the BCM is bad as well. The relay is an intrical part of the BCM. I am not sure what you mean about fuse #4? Let me know what happens.

Hi again, I just got home. The first thing I did was go to reconnect the battery; I was going to move it out of the garage to work on it. The car no longer turns over, there is no click, I hear nothing running, none of the lights come on. Is the battery dead?

Yep, that or you have a bad connection at the battery.

This guide can help us check before replacing the battery:

Please go over this guide and report back.

Hi again Ken, sorry it's been a while. I got the car started and got to the BCM. I took out the taillight relay and sure enough the taillights went out. I am looking for a replacement BCM now. My only question is why would the BCM have gone out after my wheel well liners came out? I only ask this because I want to be sure that the BCM is the issue and not something else. Thank you so much for your help, you've been amazing.

Also where would be the best place to buy one, I'm only really seeing them on eBay.

When the wheel liner got removed by the bump did it tear any wiring? If not, the bump could have knocked out the BCM which can happen. As far as the BCM goes I would call the company first to make sure they are there.

So, I pulled the BCM from the car, and went looking for a replacement. The local shops don't carry it and it would cost 750$ from the dealer to have it replaced. Is there any way to test it further to guarantee that the BCM is the actual broken part before I go and spend 750$?

You can send it to a rebuilder so they can check it, did you try to search Google or eBay for a rebuilt unit?

I did but I couldn't find a body control module part. I was only finding ECU's and junction boxes. Is the body control module called something else perhaps? I couldn't find it in any diagrams online, and when I Google body control module, the junction box usually comes up.
Thank you again for all of your help.

It's a Subaru part, even out of the FRS. https://www.subarupartsdeal.com/parts/subaru-integ-unit-assy-uss 88281ca301.html this is the piece correct? The "integrated control module" looks exactly like the piece I pulled out of my car. I just want to make sure this is the piece you believe to be broken. I checked all the wiring, and it seemed like nothing was wrong. So, I'm going to buy this piece assuming it's the one.
