What about person "A" holding the handle open (and staying out of the way!) It is important the handle is "open" when the next step happens!
Person "B" lays down as best as possible on the inside and delivers a good swift kick to the bottom of the door somewhere that won't crunch something!
Depending on the door's structure one might lay a chunk of plywood/ dense-rubber like foam/ etc. Where the kick might be delivered to spread out the force or cushion the kick.
It's your discretion whether you can do this without without breaking something. I'd say four good kicks then abandon this technique.
I've also seen a 2x4 laid against the rear seat (at the bottom) and one across the hatch at the bottom performed on a Cherokee with a floor mat stuck in it.
One more forming an "I" between the two. This last 2x4 is cut a little short so that you can wedge in another vertical 2x4 (maybe 3 feet tall). However possible use the last 2x4 like a pry bar (vertical/ horizontal/ etc.) To push the "I" 2x4 towards the hatch. With the handle being held open.
Same here, if it looks like something bad might happen, abandon my ideas!
Below, slung out a quick diagram in "Microsoft Paint".
