93 Lexus LS400 Fuel injection

Hi I think it is great to finally find a place to ask for another opinion from another Knowing Professional :D now onto my little problem:I am having a problem with a 1993 Lexus LS400 in regards to the fuel inj. Sys. To start off when it came in it had 0# of compression in #8 so that heacd was removed to find a bad intake valve it was replaced and it was re-assembled, it has spark, it has a fuel pump and turns iover fine. Yet the fuel inj. Sys. Fails to function, thuogh it will start with a small shot of gumout though does not continue to run. PLEASE HELP?
