2006 Lexus ES 330 dies while in park

Cranks fine but, without acceleration, while in park it dies- you must quickly put it in reverse or drive to keep the engine running. It does not die while in drive and idling, but as soon as you put it in Park after driving eg. Reached your destination- the engine instantly shuts off.

it recently had been subjected to high water levels.

Any check engine light? A scan of thePCM would be agood place to start to see if the computer sees any issues. Water can make cars do funny things, sounds like something to do with the trans possibly. How high of water levels are we talking here?
