Hi, I went underneath my car to check something and noticed my oil filter was really wet and when touched left oil on my hands although there was no puddles or drips where the car stands every day. It was overdue a service so took it in today the garage told me everything on the car was fine and that they had drained the oil and replaced the filter etc. Now I do not know what made me do it but for some reason I just looked under the car to look at the new filter to find it is wet with drips of oil down it. Should I be worried? What could be the problem?

Take the car back right away to the shop that did the oil change. We know there is something else wrong that is likely not related to their work, but you can be sure they are going to search really hard to find the cause so you do not have a major engine failure of an engine they worked on.

They are going to look for the highest place they see oil. Leaking oil only runs down, never up. A leaking oil pressure sending unit and a leaking valve cover are two good suspects.
