1996 Land Rover Discovery alarm problems

I recently took the battery out of my 96 discovery and put it back in. When I put it back in my alarm sounded. My doors are a bit faulty and when I unlock the doors with my key it won't turn the alarm off. I don't need my alarm and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to fix this so that I can just get the vehicle started.
