Hi. How do I remove the auxiliary belt auto tensioner on my car it is a DCI? When I loosen the tension to remove the belt, the spanner is under tension and is difficult to remove. The tensioner is retained by a bolt which I can loosen. But if I remove the bolt will the tensioner not suddenly spring off.

Sometimes you need to use a large pry bar to hold tension against the pulley and then remove the belt. The designers at expect you to have a special tool they their mechanics have only so you will need to be innovative.

Please let us know what you find so it will help others.

Best, Ken
