Took in my 2010 VW Tiguan for an intake manifold replacement. Car worked great before, just needed the engine light to go off. The German Auto Shop I went to did the replacement and the car worked for a day. Then the rpm meter started bouncing, gas pedal didn't accelerate the car, and the engine stopped. Took it back in and before they could work on it they said my battery was dead dead (quoted me for a new one) so I checked if it was bunk, got the battery charged at AutoZone and it was fine. Next quote was the attached image. The explanation for the why of the fuel injector fail was very vague, but I don't understand enough about cars to know if I should go hard about them messing something up and invoking the labor warranty. Coming from a lay person I sense a few red flags though. Anyone got a more educated opinion on this?

This is a touchy problem, most of the time when the mechanic is repairing the car they should keep an eye out for other parts that might fail which is in the neighborhood of the intake manifold. To me it sounds like the intake gasket has failed which be due to faulty installation, or it just bad luck. If I were in your shoes, I would take it to another shop and tell them the story to see what they say, the car must be inspected by a third part to get an honest opinion. I can help if you upload videos or images of what the shop says if there is a question.
