I have never had any problem with this car till this morning when going about 40 mph and a car pulled out in front of me. I came to a complete stop and luckily didnt hit anything but then while resuming speed my car started running ruff as if it wasnt getting gas. I punched it thinking that maybe it was just dirty gas and it accelerated good but when I tried to just go at a constant speed then it would run real rough. I drove about 5 miles to work and check engine light came on and when I stopped it was still running rough even in neutral. I restarted engine and check engine light went off but I could still feel the engine running rough. I have not drove it since I am now at work. Let me know what you think

Hello,

It sounds like you might have issue with fuel to the engine. It is possible to have dirt and debris in the fuel line and that is causing the engine to not get proper fuel. It can lead to hesitation while driving.

If the engine light is illuminated, you need to get it scanned to retrieve the code(s). It can help with the diagnosis.

Check to see if you are getting adequate fuel pressure to the injectors. You do that test using a fuel pressure test gauge. Those tools are typically available to use at your local auto parts store.
This vehicle should have about 50 PSI of fuel pressure.

Here is a helpful video:

The fuel pressure can be low due to a bar fuel pressure regulator or a clog in the fuel filter.
On this vehicle the regulator and the filter are located in the fuel pump assembly.

I have also attached the fuel pressure testing procedure as well as regulator diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
