Is the alarm an after market installation? I went to the Kia Sedona site and it seems as if the key contains the remote alarm arm/disarm abilities and if lost it may require a replacement from the manufacturer. Which does not explain why your duplicate fails to start the car. If there is some form of alignment that needs to occur (or re-alignment) it may not be possible outside of the service providers facility, depending on what "entity" is responsible for this no-crank, no-start condition. For the sake of possible avoiding collateral damage, I would consider towing the vehicle.
