2002 KIA Sportage Air Bag trouble code

I removed the knee pad ( below the steering column) air bag to install a remote starter system. I disconnected the battery and removed the fuse before I removed the air bag. Reconnected the air bag plug then re-installed the fuse and reconnected the battery. The air bag trouble light is flashing when the engine is running. Do you have to reset something to clear the code

Usually with safety devices, the codes have to be manually cleared with a scan tool
