2001 Other Kia Models Thermostat

Check engine light is on- diagnostic was P0118- Coolant issue- Auto parts store clerk suggested replacing the thermostat.

Is this correct? Also is it safe to drive the car if repairs will not be done for a few days?

Could be, could also be the ECT, the coolant temp sensor...If the car does overheat, I do not recomend driving it, if it overheats, it can warp the head, then you'll spend lots of money...
