Key will not turn

Went to start the car and the ignition would not turn at all it seemed locked.

Let's try turning the wheel as you are jiggling the key. There are times that the ignition lock gets stuck when the steering wheel is turned with the ignition off.

steering wheel is not locked but key will not turn. i have never had the steering lock work. what do i do?
