Replaced ignition three times, once per year for three years, because key will not turn in ignition. Car in park. Jiggled steering wheel. Steering lock has not worked since theft. Used new key because old key looks worn. Parked now in sun. Is it possible that key will not turn due to outside temperature too hot?

Hello,

I think the temperature outside shouldn't effect it, are you using a factory replacement ignition tumbler also did you replace the switch as well?

Please let us know

Cheers, Ken

Since car was stolen steering wheel lock does not work. Is it possible that some component of steering lock is causing ignition switch to fail. For now leaving key in ignition so I can drive it. Ok as long as I dont turn key past off and remove it. Hide ignition when out and about. Not a good long term solution.
