What is wrong with the current switch? No start? No power? Does not recognize the key?

The key will not turn in the ignition switch to start the car. So how do I remove the switch to replace it in my car?

That could be the key or the steering interlock. To remove the key cylinder is easy, but it takes a special tool that is about $150.00 from MB. You gently remove the trim around the cylinder install the tool that allows you to push in, turn and release the cylinder. Then reverse the process to install the new cylinder.

BUT you need the new cylinder and it's matching keys first. Then you will need to have it taken to a dealer to have the replacement keys programmed into the computer or the security system will never let it start.

Overall it's cheaper and faster to have a shop do it.
