Hi Roy!
Thanks for your reply. I should have been more descriptive of my problem. The captive nuts I'm having the problem with is the A and B connectors on the top of the junction block. The two bottom connector nuts tightened up okay. I just replaced the BCM and noticed that the unit that was in there was second hand. Is it possible that the threads in the nuts are stripped on the A and B connectors. If so is there a work around? Sorry I do not have a picture. The junction block is the one under the dash on the driver's side.

Try working the nuts while prying out on the connector. It sounds like it is stripped threads on the shaft.
Beyond that, you may need to cut off the nuts.

Thanks Roy!
I will give that a shot and see if I can get these connectors to tighten down.

Hi Roy
Took a while to get back to you as I have been waiting on getting a new BCM. To get back to my original question about the spinning nuts on the junction box plugs I decided to check out why this was happening. Using a digital caliper it turns out that the captive nuts engage the posts by just.07 inches and that is with the plug fully seated. Looks like Chrysler messed up on this one. With that little amount of engagement it is no wonder the nuts can get stripped. So can one cut off the nuts and replace them with a regular nut and washer and if so how difficult is it to do this. One final question, what is the thread size on the posts?
Thanks again
Al Ross

It will be time-consuming to do this. You will need patience for this one.
As far as the thread size, there is nothing that tells me the size. You will need to check that when you finally get it apart.

Hi Roy
I think your absolutely right on this one. The two top plugs are tough to reach but if the plugs are not in properly it could cause all kinds of weird things. I am thinking of a way to extend the posts on the junction block. This would be much easier.
Thanks again for your reply.
