My wifes jeep is driving me nuts! The blower motor will run sometimes, and then sometimes it wont. I have checked the motor, and it is good, the resistor was replaced a year ago, but not sure if it is bad or not. The speed switch for the fan has four positions, and only three work when the fan works-the 1, 2 and 4 positions work, but the third does not. I have checked the fuses, the ground, taken the fan motor out and tested it(it works fine). What is going on with this thing. One day I will start it up and it will work, but then the next day it wont. I have had Jeeps in the past that seem to experiance the same issues, but never like this. It's got to be something simple I am missing here. Any ideas?

Ok you say your blower motor works on 1, 2, and 4 but not on 3. So the problem is either the blower motor resistor or the selector switch. So if you pull the blower motor resistor and check for different levels of ohms of resistance and each one has resistance and none are infinet then the switch would be the logical problem. To test the switch put it on the 3rd position and at the blower motor resistor you should find a light blue wire check it for battery voltage with key on if there is voltage the switch is good otherwise the switch is the problem. Hope this helps. Thanks
