The vehicle recently started shifting into neutral while I was driving. This car has had no problems with the automatic tranny, not a slip, a noise, fluid looks great.

Another problem occured at the same time. The Jeep never had a key, it just turned on when you turned the housing around the ignition cylender. After a minute of shifting into neutral while trying to get a few blocks to get it home, I turned it off to restart and suddenly the housing on the ignition cylender was locked up, like in a normal car. I had a harmonic puller with me so pulled out the whole ignition swith (admittedly may not have done an excellent job as being in the middle of the road caused me to rush).

Aside from this, my u joint had recently started clanking and I hadn't had a chance to fix that yet. With this combination of other symptons, what do you think?

I don't feel any of them are related. The tumbler may have finally worked itself free inside and started working again. U-joints do go bad. As far as the transmission, how does the fluid look?
