1997 Jeep Laredo rear speed sensor

The computer says "rear speed sensor circuit malfunction." I have replaced both of the speed sensors. Then diconnected the battery, the check engine light still comes back on. What is the problem?

Hi:
If they have been replaced, check the wiring for damage, continuity. There may be a break in one of them. Also, make sure the ground strap to the transmission is good and not damaged.
