When I give it gas it studders. When I get going the engine studders when I give it gas but smooths out when you let off. I notice that the exh. Has a put put sound I gave it a tune up but it didnt help

Sounds like a engine misfire. Did you replace cap, rotor and wires wiuth new spark plugs? If so thn next you need to do a compression test to make sure all cylnders have compression

Yes replaced cap wires plugs and rotor compression is good

The putt putt sound makes me think its a misfire but you said compression is good in all cylinders? Next step would be try doing a slight brake stand and short out each cylinder by using a short piece of rubber vacuum hose on the dist cap between plug wire and cap and I use a test light and lightly touch the rubber hose to short out each cylinder and find the cylinder that does not change when shorting it out and then you knbow what cylinder is misfing then you need to check for maybe a broken valve spring, or rocker arm loose or fuel injector spray
