Noises problem
2004 Jeep Cherokee V8 All Wheel Drive Automatic

When I get going about 20mph I get a rubbery sounding squeel. I know its coming from the driverside front tire area. I dont think its a bearing because of the strange noise, also the noise will go away sometimes, this has been going on for about 2 weeks. I looked at the tires and rotated them the brakes are almost new, and I topped off the front differential. Still it squeeks. I have had bad wheel bearings befor and usauly I can feel it as well as hear it, also it is a more rough sound, and this is a squeeky/whinning. I think the onlything left to change is the bearing, but I would like to get some advice first. Thanks

Check the front u-joints that are located at the steering knuckle. Sometimes if these joints are not greased they can make noise as well. Or if they do not have a grease zerk, you may have to replace the u joint anyway.
